And I don't think it's fair to call her a whore because of what kinds of pictures some people draw of her.
As for lack of substance, Slippy has less backstory that Krystal does.

Bah, there's an awful lot of controversy with this character. I've had a lot of people disagree with my opinion about her, but I can see where they're coming from. It's not like Fox's character is any less vague.
Anyway, thank you!

In life, trials and tribulations are mandatory; misery is optional.
Dude, people do that with any attractive character they see, perhaps some more than others. I don't think it's fair to hate her for being a victim too such perversion. I admit that some of my pics of her are somewhat revealing, but at the same time I try to stay true to her character. I actually got rid of some pics that didn't. Nudity isn't bad. The way these people use it bad and perverted.
I wouldn't think of her as an empty character, but rather mysterious. Link and Samus are the same way. They don't even talk, but they are very interesting characters. I think a lack of backstory or character development (which I prefer to call a "dark" character) is good in this way because it leaves a lot of room for our imagination and that's what makes them interesting. We don't know much about her character, but we do know this: she's kind, brave, passionate, and she wants a deeper relationship with Fox(no matter how dangerous his profession is.) She also values trust.
Starfox Command totally butchered her personality in some cases. But, what do you expect from nine different endings? My favorite ending so far was actually the default. Even though the ending was quite sad, it gave me much more respect for Krystal. It just really stayed true to her character. She had integrity and dignity, unlike some other endings where it just seems like Krystal just completely snapped, lol. . . But, if you think about it, maybe Fox said something really hurtful to her so she would leave the team. It said he forced her out. There's no way Fox could have logically persuaded her. In fact, he didn't even want her to talk him out of it. He wanted it his way, only. So, I could understand how someone could change. She must have been traumatized.
